Hi I’m Maura. I’m a writer, researcher, and creative.

I am excited about design and communications and am eager to explore imaginative and innovative applications of written and visual media within the realms of storytelling, curation, and marketing.

I am a May 2023 graduate of Bard Graduate Center in New York City, where I earned my master’s degree in Decorative Arts, Design History, and Material Culture. My master’s thesis focuses on the history of fashion design within theater and television in mid-twentieth century Canada and Los Angeles, California. During my graduate studies, I also worked as a Digital Project Intern, through which I gained experience in web design and web content writing.

In 2020 I earned my bachelor’s degree from Davidson College, where I studied English and Studio Art. While at Davidson, I received several grants which allowed me to pursue creative projects and research and collaborate with other artists, both domestically and internationally. Between graduating and beginning a master’s program, I worked as a Gallery Assistant and Digital Media Strategist at Atlanta’s Decorative Arts Center and opened a small business through which I created and sold unisex, up-cycled outerwear made of antique and vintage textiles.

Currently, I am seeking an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, creative group of people who are dedicated to helping clients tell stories that make an impact. I look forward to growing my skillset and gaining professional experience within a creative context.
